Marius Aurenti materials has opened a number of training centres. Following on from its traditional base in La Ciotat, centres have been opened in Giens (Var), Paris and Valence.
Our training courses are designed for both individuals and professionals.
How do I find out whether I can use Ma’s materials myself?
Our materials do not all require the same level of technical expertise to use them. This expertise naturally depends on the chosen material, as well as on the desired effects or even the type of surface to be covered. For example, a decorative concrete, which is strong and durable by nature, will break up on a surface if it is incorrectly applied. You could see cracks, holes or even uneven areas appearing over time. This is why we recommend that you attend one of our training courses if you intend to take on this kind of work yourself, even if you are already an experienced DIYer. If you have decided to employ a craftsman, choose someone who is trained and qualified in the application of Ma’s materials.
Training courses designed for individuals include:
• Waxed concrete: applying a smooth finish mortar
• Creating and covering a sink or a washbasin
• Decorative coatings: introductory course
• Lime: an introduction to and practical use both outside and inside
• Colour: understanding the rules of harmony, avoiding mistakes, tailoring your choice to suit your surroundings
I am already experienced, can I do it all myself?
Diyers, to asses your ability to apply our materials yourselves, we recommend that you read our product technical sheets, which can be downloaded from each of the pages devoted to our materials. They contain application information and instructions for use. If you want to perfect your technique, you could also attend one of our training courses, including those specially designed for experienced individuals and professionals. Training designed for experienced individuals and professionals:
• Initial training on decorative coatings: preparing surfaces, recommendations & advice, application
• Waxed concrete: the theory behind surfaces, preparing surfaces, carrying out a sample
• An introduction to ma’s materials: creating a concrete object, the theory and practice of waxed concrete, decorative coatings and lime
• Decorative coatings: preparing surfaces, recommendations & advice, applying coatings: silicate coating for stucco, acrylic coating, cement based coating, waxed plaster coating, hand working technique, applying waxes, polishing, colours.
• Colour: understanding the rules of harmony, avoiding mistakes, tailoring your choice to suit your surroundings
I am a professional and would like to obtain a Ma’s qualification
We have designed training courses leading to a qualification for professionals who are admitted provided they have initial training and/or relevant experience. This training is recognised by our awarding the status of “Qualified Ma’s craftsman”.
It allows you to complete and master various stages:
• high level application skills for all Marius Aurenti materials (2 mortars, 4 coatings, resin)
• the areas of use and properties of all Marius Aurenti materials
• the various stages of the system: from preparation to maintenance
• advising on colours
• the costs involved when working with the different materials
