Decorative concrete panels
Originally, banches were made from wooden planks used as formwork for concrete. This ancient technique has left attractive wood imprints in the concrete. Casting, bubbles and the irregularities of these ancient techniques are just some of the raw concrete decorations that can be created with Malto for private homes, stores and hotels.
Our modern concretes have been used to revisit the slats to create Malto, an interior facing product that's tough and easy to glue down.
Malto's core is made of fiber-reinforced concrete and a protective varnish.

Malto features a lightweight fiber-reinforced concrete core, a hand-crafted decorative layer and a protective varnish.

Reception, storage and handling instructions
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
Wear protective gloves and goggles when handling and cutting. Remove dust from boards before gluing.
STORAGE
Store boards in their original packaging. Any edge, corner or surface protection must be maintained until the Malto floorboards are installed.
They must be stored horizontally, so as not to distort.
Store in a clean, dry (no condensation of water vapour, heated if necessary), temperate place, away from humidity and protected from rising damp, direct sunlight and at the place of destination 48 hours before use, in temperature (15°C) and humidity (40 to 65%) conditions.
Permissible substrates
New or old substrates will be sanded and then mechanically vacuumed.
Substrates must be sound, clean, free of cracks, cohesive (surface scraping with a metal object must not produce dust, grain or scale; perpendicular tensile strength > 0.5 MPa in the general case), dry, flat (deflection less than 5 mm under the 2-meter straightedge and 1 mm under the 20 cm straightedge), normally porous (between 1 and 5 minutes in the water drop test), clean (notably free of grease, dust and any loose parts), in compliance with current DTU.
Interior walls :
Non-water-repellent (cardboard faces) and water-repellent plasterboards.

Implementation
CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE >+ 5°C and <35°C
SUBSTRATE HUMIDITY 4% maximum
APPLICATION EQUIPMENT
Blade-cutting tools: plunge-cutting circular saw with diamond blade, diamond hole saw, suitable pliers and disk cutters.
Installation tool: mastic-glue cartridge, adjustment spacer to facilitate flatness adjustment of finished work.
CUTTING
The Malto cut-out locations are determined by the layout. Cut-outs are made using the tools described in the installation equipment paragraph. Particular attention should be paid to circular cut-outs and Malto ends. Care should also be taken to level the structure.
ENCOLLAGE
To avoid adhesion defects, the back of Malto blades must be free of dust.
Apply a bead of glue to the back of the MALTO slats, then position them on the wall to be decorated.
Be sure to observe the open time of the adhesive used.
SETTING UP
The boards are positioned on the substrate. Any adhesive build-up should be cleaned immediately, before drying.
Care must be taken when positioning the blades, because once the MALTO blades have been positioned on the support, they are difficult to move.
PROTECTION
The implementation of a wall varnish or high-performance varnish to protect the finished decor.
Further information
A wood stain finish can be used for spot color retouching of Malto blades (please contact our sales teams).
Avoid prolonged or permanent contact with aggressive chemicals such as acids, bases, vinegar, solvents, bleach, hydroalcoholic gel, etc.
Malto blades are not recommended for use in contact with hot oils (e.g. kitchen splashbacks).
