Villa Ohana

In Saint Barthélemy, deep mineral tones meet timber, natural fibres and the Caribbean horizon.

The architecture

Villa Ohana combines architecture by Johannes Zingerle with interiors by Alexander Design LA. Spaces alternate between open views of the landscape and more intimate settings, using timber, textiles and natural materials.

Sculptural furniture and carefully chosen objects sit within calm volumes. Side light reveals the surfaces’ texture and gives the interiors a depth that extends into views across the property.

Materials in the project

Marius Aurenti microcement in Ardoise and Corde forms part of this palette. Its tonal variations accompany intimate spaces and bathrooms, in dialogue with dark timber and natural light.

Douglas Friedman’s photographs reveal the relationship between surfaces, the scale of the furniture and the openings. Continuous finishes allow variations in hand application and light to remain visible.
