Conclad stands out for its large-format panels, particularly suited to hotels, shops and private residences. These panels are designed to provide an authentic concrete look while simplifying installation, thanks to their unrivalled lightness and ease of cutting.

The USE of Conclad Concrete Panels

  • Hotels: Create a contemporary, sophisticated atmosphere in reception areas or bedrooms.
  • Retail: Bring an industrial touch to your stores with large-format concrete panels.
  • Residential: Use in living rooms and kitchens (excluding wet areas) for a unique concrete look.

Installation and Logistics

Ease of installation: Conclad panels require no specialized tools, for fast, efficient installation.

Installation system

  • Gluing: Conclad panels are glued directly to wall surfaces, using specific adhesives for mineral panels. This method is fast and guarantees a solid, durable hold.

  • Screw-mounting: For applications requiring great heights or ceiling installation, panels can be screw-mounted on a support structure. This secures the installation and ensures the necessary stability, particularly in commercial or public environments.

  • Compatible substrates: Panels can be attached to a variety of substrates, such as wood, metal or other resistant materials.

Marius Aurenti’s Conclad concrete panels are available in two distinct versions: one with chamfered edges and cabochons, and another with straight edges without cabochons, offering a variety of aesthetic options to suit different design styles.

General Product Description

Concreo® is a material produced in solid form as panels, with high technical characteristics. It allows the creation of manufactured items or coverings that closely resemble cast concrete, while offering the same ease of processing as a standard wooden panel, using the same tools, blades, equipment, screws and fittings as wood. It revolutionises the use of concrete in the field of interior architecture and high-end furniture.

Concreo® is an eco-friendly material available in solid panel form, ready to use, with protective and waterproof surface finishes. It is made from cellulose fibres bonded with plaster and acrylic resins that are not classified as hazardous, in accordance with current directives.

Depending on the application, Concreo® can be used on its own or combined with other support materials. Concreo® can be applied or veneered, using Concreo® adhesive or other standard adhesives, onto support materials such as wood-based panels, aluminium, metal and other types of materials.

Depending on the support materials used, it may be necessary to counterbalance using the same techniques as those used for bonding wood-based panels, while always taking into account Concreo®’s high stability when exposed to variations in temperature and humidity.

Use

Concreo is designed as a non-structural material for interiors: wall covering, furniture material, ceiling material, decorative elements, design objects and other uses compatible with its technical characteristics.

Thanks to the excellent qualities of the panels, the user may also choose to use Concreo in a different way from that indicated by the manufacturer. In this case, however, the user assumes full responsibility for such use.

For further project information, please refer to the certified test reports for the natural finish, available for download from the website www.concreo.it and listed in the attached information sheet table.

Finishing Works

Concreo® is a raw material made available for creation. From standard panels, it makes it possible to design finishes, volumes and objects by providing flat forms and joining panels together. Concreo® panels are manufactured and distributed already finished, with highly technological surface treatments that provide good resistance to attack from external agents, while preserving a very natural appearance.

Concreo® is available in different surface finishes. Whatever the finish selected, the aesthetic appearance is always subject to natural differences, giving each panel its own uniqueness and adding value to the product. Small differences in colour, cracks and holes are therefore not grounds for complaint.

The surface treatment creates a thin protective layer with good stain-resistance from an aesthetic point of view. Laboratory tests certify the level of surface resistance to the main colouring agents. As a precaution, it is recommended to remove colouring substances, if possible within one hour, in order to avoid any minor damage.

It is recommended to immediately remove highly aggressive substances such as alcohol, acids, ketones, ethanol or other similar substances by absorbing them with soft cloths or delicate paper, without rubbing the surface under any circumstances, in order to avoid more serious damage to the protection attacked by chemical agents. For further information, please refer to the certified Test Reports available for download from the website www.concreo.it.

Depending on the project and intended uses, where cuts, milling, notches, cracks or, more generally, any areas where the untreated inner body of the panel is brought to the surface, it may be necessary to apply a colour-matching finishing colour, an injection protection product, or a dustproof, stain-resistant and waterproof varnish. Care should be taken to quickly remove any excess of these substances from adjacent untreated surfaces.

For best performance, we recommend using products specifically manufactured under the Concreo® brand: filler, base colour and transparent finish with dustproof, stain-resistant and waterproof functions. Please contact Marius Aurenti for further information regarding availability.

Finishing Works

Conclad® panels are manufactured and distributed already finished, with natural surface treatments of excellent aesthetic quality.

The aesthetic appearance is always subject to natural differences, giving each panel its own uniqueness and adding value to the product. Small differences in colour, cracks and holes are therefore not grounds for complaint.

In the event of contact, colouring substances must be removed immediately in order to try to prevent or limit damage, using soft cloths or delicate paper without rubbing the surface, to avoid more serious damage to the protection attacked by chemical agents.

Depending on the project and intended uses, where cuts, milling, notches, cracks or, more generally, any areas where the untreated inner body of the panel is brought to the surface, it may be necessary to apply a colour-matching finishing colour, an injection protection product, or a dustproof varnish. Care should be taken to quickly remove any excess of these substances from adjacent untreated surfaces.

For best performance, we recommend using products specifically manufactured under the Conclad® brand: filler and base colour. Please contact your supplier for further information regarding availability.

Product Maintenance

As Conclad® is a natural material, it is subject to natural ageing caused by smog, dust and mechanical wear related to the environment and intended use. This ageing follows a process very similar to that of cement, increasing its charm and authenticity over time.

For normal cleaning of the slab, it is recommended to use a soft cloth dampened with water to remove surface dust. To clean the surface more thoroughly, use very mild neutral detergents. Good results can also be obtained using liquid glass-cleaning products: apply the product evenly without excessive pressure to avoid damaging the surface, remove it with a damp cloth and dry gently.

In the case of persistent stains, a product such as Mastro Lindo Magic Eraser or a similar slightly abrasive product may be used, always taking care not to damage the surface protection. If the stain has not been satisfactorily removed, it will be necessary to act more invasively, using abrasive papers to remove all the stained material and, depending on the depth of removal, restore the surface using the appropriate filler material or simply the base colour, depending on the desired effect. Both products are available under the Conclad® brand from the manufacturer or from regional distributors.

The manufacturer’s technical department is always available to help the customer choose the solution best suited to their needs.

By following the manufacturer’s instructions, the material will maintain its beauty virtually indefinitely.

Conclad® is available in a standard natural grey finish and in two aged-effect finishes: Rude Grey 3 and Rude Grey 4. The range of finishes is constantly evolving, so it is recommended to consult the website www.conclad.it for up-to-date information. Custom surface colours are also available on request.

Thickness

3 thicknesses available: 9 mm, 11.5 mm and 17 mm. Other thicknesses are available on request.

Dimensions and Weight

Conclad® slabs are sold in standard formats of 1,250 x 2,540 mm and 1,250 x 3,000 mm.

Precautions for Use

    • When handling the slabs, their low elasticity must be taken into account. They must always be supported evenly to avoid breakage.

    • Never lift the slabs while allowing them to bend freely along their full length, as this could easily cause them to break. Always handle them on edge and without creating dangerous bends.

    • Protect the edges from impacts to avoid chipping.

    • The surface layer does not protect against stains or cuts. It is therefore recommended to properly protect the slab from contact with liquids, blades and sharp or abrasive objects that could damage the material.

    • When using adhesive tapes applied to the surface — which should be avoided in all cases — take care when removing them to avoid removing the surface protection. In this case, the issue can be resolved by applying Conclad® Base Colour, which makes the use of any other filler or repair material unnecessary.

    • Store in a dry place, away from direct light sources, horizontally and with even support across the entire surface, in order to avoid warping of the slabs.
